Found this one day while walking the edge of a small spring fed creek in Missouri. Points being flaked out of both bottom cornors.

Nice find there. Always makes me wonder why some pieces like that aren't finished, especially hardstone, did he die, did he lose it, did wife decide she wanted to make a baby?😜

Unfinished wing bannerstone. The slate has been flaked thin. The left wing has been broken off, either by farming implements or during flaking. Can't be sure. It's an old break, see the mineralization in the break area.

I found this broken unfinish banner on the east side of the creek. On the west side I found a broken geniculate bannerstone.

Found 1999 in Fayette County Indiana. This unfinished bannerstone has been flaked and had a little pecking into shape. Of interest (at least to me) is the striations in the area of where the barrel would have been. These cut like lines are found on both sides of the unfinished banner.

This pecked unfinished bannerstone was found March 8 1999 in Madison County Indiana along Lick Creek. I found many artifacts in the field where this was found over the years. Now this field is no longer plowed. Bummer.
