Dug up in an area that had a store of some sort between late 1800’s and early 1900.
This is a heavy brass valve of some sort.
Threads are internal at bottom , top has something broke off with a hole in center. One picture show the inside.
Trying to identify what it possibly could be to do more research.
Wondering if this piece could be from the era of early
1900’s

Reminds me of a steam trap.

My first thought was an early tractor related part. :icon_scratch:

The scrap value of the brass alone must be at least $2. :laughing7:

Yes it’s pretty heavy for its size, could this be something off a boiler , steam engine or other? The inside has a “valve seat, as if a plumbing valve or some type of relief valve. Any opinion or ideas on that?

Take a look at steam pressure gauges or safety valves.
