It's hard to tell but it looks like the "D" is inside of a football. Maybe from an old letter jacket? Good luck,

I SEE some faint LETTERING ON THE BOTTOM* UNDER THE "D"- aslo whats on the rear lettering or marking wize

Not sure what it is but seen it before and is very modern. The back is not a typical of a button right? You should always post both sides.
