i went out after work yesterday to a spot that is an old Spanish settlement. basically it was a stop for immigrant's of all sorts of countries on there way to California for the gold rush. i cant tell what the date is or what country i know it is definitely not from the U.S. if you know what it is let me know. thanks again.

Have you cleaned it?

yes i did, was that not a good idea

Its a good idea for some & not for others. I personally only clean with water & a soft brush. Thas it. I like the green/brown patination etc. Sometimes I will clean things that have no historical value to better ID it. It's a personal preference really. However try & ID things before you clean it. If that were the only button known of that type you could have knocked $100s of it value. I hope I don't sound critical, this is meant to help. No damage done on this one, just something to think about.
