Unusual find in roll of pennies, help identify? ***PICTURES***

Hello all, As I am cleaning up my desk where I open all my coins, I get to the bottom of a huge pile of plastic brinks wrappers and paper half dollar wrappers all unopened ready to be recycled and thrown in the trash. In the corner of my desk, I find 2 rolls of brinks pennies unopened, don't know how they got there, perhaps last box? I am not quite sure. I open the 2 rolls, roll 1 had nothing, roll 2 had a 1991 canadian penny and this odd coin.

it is copper, and looks to be quite worn, possibly a coin from the 1800's? I don't think it is american. It's also shaped kind of weird as well.

sorry about the scan, my scanner is not the best with dark colored/copper coins.

600 dpi is the best my scanner does, and these are the best scans i can get.

Can you make one image transparent and overlay them somehow? Wouldn't that align the major features?

I will not be able to really find out about the coin's ID until November 2nd, though even then, the person whom I am going to see may not be able to ID the coin, he is an expert on ancient coins though. (of course, I won't tell him i got this from a penny roll, ha)

Here are the most likely candidates I chose. Madwest, I tried overlaying each one of them, but you couldn't really see the difference in coins very well. I just put them side by side. My choices are #'s 3, 7 and 9

Thanks K, for your help!!! i honestly do not have a clue on the coin, as it is worn pretty well, making it hard to compare.

Also, this coin is copper colored, not silver/gold. I am trying to get more scans of the coin, just bare with me for a bit.

nooo don't feel dumb, you're being a great help!! just forgot to mention the composition. I am just cleaning my scanner now, has not been cleaned since 2006. Ha, when it was purchased. should hopefully come out better quality scans!

roman emperor - fels temps reverse ( horseman spearing fallen enemy ) or early byzantine coin maybe there are about 3 letters visible near the edge of the head side across from where the forehead / eyes would be at * they might assist in the ID
