Unusual open pontil bottle fragment.

Anyone ever seen an open pontil bottle resembling this. I'm posting here as well as "what is it?" I would love to know what the heck it was! I found it at a spot with a very long history of habitation going back to the 1700's. First listed as the site of a French trading post along the river. I was hoping someone on here would recognize it. Thanks

You Rock!! Did you ever find something and for some reason you just "had" to know what it was part of or where it came from!? That's how I felt about this piece. Thankyou! I dug bottles growing up and had never seen anything similar. I bought a good bottle probe online and spent one whole day out there. That's when I came across this piece. I couldn't find any concentrated pockets of glass though. The land drops off sharp to a fairly clear river with a gravel bottom. I bought a divers mask yesterday. I'm hoping some spilled down or washed out into the river. Thanks again!!
