Brilliant thanks tamrock [emoji106]Some coal stoves had a separate square head wrench in order to adjust the damper. It would be too hot to touch if you fixed the adjustment handle on the stove, so it was removable.
Seems a bit small for what I first thought, but still I have a hunch it's a square head nut wrench or lever attached to a square shaft end for something. Looks like it was nickel plated originally.Brilliant thanks tamrock [emoji106]
Have you got a reference on Google too this mate?Looks very much like a loom needle used to slide the cross threads back and forth as the loom was hand operated.
