Unusual Suspender Clip thingy

This is how I found it in the attic . It has no makers marks . Any ideas what this could be ?

Yes I have seen this before. I will have to search. Its some kind of patented suspender.

Im positive I have this patent in my files. I looked under suspender, buckle and patent but I cant find it.
