Will do! :icon_thumleft: I sure wish I could locate the 20 mule loads of silver that was hidden by the Cherokee only 15 miles from where I live. It's confirmed, and it's there, but those Cherokee were masters at hiding things, to this day no one has found the hiding place.

Re: 3 lbs. Silver Ingot.

Large piece turned out to be only 5% silver. Supposedly the rest is nickel, cobalt, lead. Keep on digging! :)

I thought it looked more lead than silver, but 5% is still pretty good :icon_thumright:

Here is the piece drilled. Why they drill 4 tiny holes and then one all the way though I dunno..

They would be testing for consistency, checking to see if each half, or quarter, gave the same or similar results.

Re: 3 lbs. Silver Ingot.

I never could let this rest.. I purchased a Silver acid test from Ebay and it finally arrived. Did both the scratch test and applied acid directly to pieces.

First the piece that was hammered in half. The acid turned dark green which is supposed to indicate between .500 and .800 silver.

The other pieces I have tested so far have turned dark brown/red. Which is supposed to indicate between .800 and .925 silver.

I really don't know what to say about those guys that I brought the pieces to in the first place... Not happy!

Will get more pics if interested. Batteries in camera died.
