Nothing tested positive for Gold 😢,

5 days of hunting, apparently I did get 3 wheat pennies and the Mercury Dime from an old churchyard. 8 quarters, 11 dimes, 6 nickels, 30 pennies
4 rings, 2 chains and miscellaneous 🐂 bullshit …

Anybody ID those iron fragments? They popped good on my machine but do you think they are from a rusted ship’s hull?

Big Silver Ring, and small earring were the only precious metals I got. 🤷🏼‍♂️😢 got.
The big eagle 🦅 ring is probably stainless
I went from Hilton Head to Wilmington North Carolina and Surf was running high because of the storm but nothing was coming up on the beach 😢

If it's swollen, it's junk. Even if it isn't, sometimes the salt water will ruin them. First check to see if all the buttons move/click. What I do when I find one that might live, is to wash it thoroughly, inside and out, with fresh water (preferably distilled water) I then air dry it as much as possible and then seal it into a plastic bag with uncooked rice to draw out as much moisture as possible. After that, see if it will take a charge and turn on. Even if it's bad, they can have some value to whoever lost it. You can sometimes remove the chip and put it into a good phone to gather some of the owner's contact info on it. They might want it back to recover photos and other info. If you can't find any info and just want to get rid of it, I've found a few independent phone stores who will buy used/bad phones for their parts.

Probably is, some things never change... 🤣
was hoping the chains were gold, but no luck. They are pretty though.. must be plated because the clasp rusted on both but the chains held up...
But not to acid...

Wet sand mostly, but there were not many signals so I moved up to the dryer areas, that's where the chains came from

I found a newer iPhone waterlogged in the surf and washed it off and let it dry. It was toast wouldn’t charge or turn on. I gave it to a friend and he took it to a vending machine at Walmart and got $80 for it. He did buy me a six pack of beer though. It turned out to be the best find of the day.

I had a beautiful ring in the scoop yesterday and quickly realized it was junk.
Although we are many miles apart we will continue our quest..

Hi Gare, Yes… At my loco Walmart there is a vending machines that buys used cell phone. From what my friend told me was the machine scans the phone to get the model and then ask the user questions like does it turn on. He answers the questions a let the machine scan his drivers license then he receives a check payable to him from the machine.
