update..i found small piles of rocks that lead to a large one, should i.........

a few weeks ago i was walkin around in the boonies looking for bottles. i came across 2 small piles of stones. i thought to myself that someone marked something for some reason but didnt give it any thought. and a while later a came across some more little piles of rock. now im thinking WTF?? i so i started to look around me and from where i was standing i see another pile. i walk tothat one and spot another. well this goes on for about 3/4 of a mile. then i see it a pile of rocks about 2 feet tall. i get ready to start digging with my trusty leshce shovel and i look at the time, i gotta haul butt back to my car n get home to get ready for work. now im thinking should i find the spot again and dig? im kinda worried a might unbury someones pet. but why would they go to such extreme to take it so far in the boonies the closest house is about 2 miles from the spot. ill take my md if i go back, but then again im thinking what if some sicko booby trapped ithonestly, should i go back i may go tomorrow, but i dunno. i have been thinking of it every day....what could be under there, obliously its something..... even if my md does not go off, could there be cash what would u all do what ever it is i give my word ill follow up in this post, or delete my account and enjoy my riches some where

Just my thought on the subject: it could be a Native American medicine wheel and the piles are the spokes for the four directions and the center. If it is I hope you don't touch it.

if u opened this i apologise..... well, for one since i didnt delete my account means i didnt hit it big, 2 sorry i took so long to post....3 u ask why ?? because i drank my shares worth of beer tonight after our trek in the desert. i am not dissapointed and i am not jumping for joy. k well we journeyed into the now very humid desert and found our rock trail, thing is it was comming from the other direction.. so we follow it and sure enough it leads to the "main"main pile of rocks, scan with the detect and get something small, we move the rocks and whele moving out pops a radio tube...... hmmmmmm, so then the rocks are cleared, digging starts, and some thick blue glass here and there, then we see some shiney. its a nickle, from 1990, dig and dig and dig no cash flo, no precious metals, just el dirto. now we didnt dig 7 feet down but we dug. and nada, well ya'll hopefully ill find some riches one day like we all dream of and delete my account and enjoy in another country..... (no offense moderators about the deleting account stuff) u know how it is with treasure now im just wondering WTF was all the markings about, time will tell...... was it a geocash gone bunk? dont let tis dissapoint you ever, always check it out, well i am kinda paranoid..... did one of u beat me to it?? jk, well untill next time, just dig it!!!!
p.s. we filled our hole , repiled the rocks with the glass, the tube and even the nickle
then went to the site where i found a few cork bottles gotta find something somewhere
p.s.s. i would like to thank you all for your suport and opinions, also when i first found treasenet i got soooooooo pumped up by seeing others finds. u all do a awesome job.... well i think ill be back for a while now after dreaming of what it could have been, like someone posted earlier, who has come and gone from TN, i came then went now im back pspspspsps. i also read in here someone found a tin at a water hole with a old pice in it, i found a tin and could tell there was someting solid and circular in it, when i tore it open it was some ancient carmex or something that hardened well still today was a kick butt day!!!!

What you found is possibly some sort of voodoo ritual site. There are those who are attempting to practice ancient magic today in America. In fact, there are whole stores dedicated to the sale of various strange voodoo dolls such as 19th century Congo nkisi nail figures, etc.

A "bruja" (sorceress) would most likely explain the entire arrangement but I do not recommend getting into this stuff.

Considering what you found in the ground the only sense is that this was (is) indeed a voodoo site.

Why the weird tube and 1990 nickel? Who knows? But in the occult one can find most anything. Things that make no sense to the intelligent mind make perfect sense in the occult. It's a religion of contradictions, despair, fantasies, drugs, and dead-in streets.

One may quite easily find signs of voodoo in New York City. If you ever find a little wooden doll sitting by a tree it was put there with the hopes someone would come along and take it. The taking of it completes the curse.

I don't think you want me to write a book here on the subject so I'll conclude.

Don't worry my friend you're safe and all is well. It's just a religious myth and that's that.

Look at the bright side, Ya didnt get blown up and you probably did more today than alot of the population do in a life time. ya got to live the dream for just one day, god what a feeling that is. Their are too many people today living in front of the tv and not actually experiencing life so i take my hat off to you to go out their and actually do something differnt. Oh and man dosnt the beer taste a little sweeter after a little sweat. I think it made a great story even if the ending wasnt treasure and i am sure that others enjoyed the forum as well. I found this VooDoo doll this week at a garage sale mixed in a box with toys. I hope the kiddies didn't look in that box before I did. I don't see how anyone could leap to the conclusion that a few piles of rocks in a remote area might be associated with voodoo rituals. There's just no evidence to support that idea. I've found piles of rocks on mountain summits, in forests, and in caves --- are they indications of voodoo rituals? Very unlikely. Unless I also found a bloody chicken, a mojo bag, and a business card from Marie Laveaux's Voodoo Ritual Catering, I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that such rock piles have anything to do with voodoo. I mean, why voodoo? Why not UFOs or Bigfoot?

This is what I think, now having seen photos of the area... If you look at the soil in each of the pictures, you'll notice signs of water erosion. Like a lot of the open spaces in the Southwest, this appears to be a shallow flood plain, flooding only a couple of inches deep over a wide area after thunderstorms. From what I know of weather in the Southwest, the big thunderstorms usually blow in during late August and September, which is also when you get desert flooding. If it is a trail, it has been marked with stones because the footpath occasionally washes away.

And, if it is a trail, you can make a couple of assumptions: Whoever piled the rocks anticipated that the trail would wash away, so he's acquainted with the area, and he's probably a local; The trail must lead to or away from something of importance --- otherwise, there's no reason to mark the trail at all; and, finally, you know that the site was previously visited within the last 16 years.

I've got a couple of questions... Have you measured the distance between each rock pile? Is it the same distance? Is there a vantage point from which you can see all of the rock piles, say from a nearby hill, with a scope? I'm starting to wonder if these rock piles are some sort of measurement of distance...for somebody sighting-in a high powered rifle, for example. Any evidence of shell casings or spent lead?

this story is dead, but i guess ill have to answer a few more questions.... i seriously doubt a family was bored, they must have been really bored to pile that many rocks, im serious from where i found them they went on at least a 1/2 mile. wierd thing is we found the main pile from a trail of rock from the other direction, after finding nothing my friend went to the original trail and followed it,i stayed back and was at a little dump digging bottles while he was searching. he was hot and tired and lost the trail. dont forget we have had ALOT of rain, downpours and flash flooding every other day, very odd for being in the desert SW. and the distances from one pile to another varried from 10yds to 30yds. thanks all for getting me some inspiration!!! it was awesome
