UPDATE: Lost 1918 Mercury Dime - Found

I went back to the house where I thought I had lost the Mercury dime. I tried to retrace where I had hunted before. I did pull out one wheat pennies and 2 Memorial pennies. I hunted for about an hour and gave up. I went back home feeling disgusted because I couldn't find the dime. I started to throw my dirty clothes in the washing machine and in the bottom of the washer I saw a nice silver dime. It must have fallen out of the shorts I had worn when I first found the dime. I don't know how I missed it, but I am glad to have it back. Thank You fellow Treasurenetters for your support and sympathy. ( Also, for not calling me an idiot!)

I think about it alot, people lose things, as we know, 'cause we find 'em, but why not us too.

I'm always checking my pockets, especially when I have a decent find.

Sometimes coins will get stuck in the corner of your pocket. If you reach in you can't feel it. That must of happend then it fell out in the wash. Cool you found it and it was not buried for another 100 years.

Wonderful. And, as you likely discovered, the washing machine cycle does a great job of cleaning up coins. I'm always forgetting to empty my pockets and picking up shiney coins from the bottom of the washer.
