Hi, everyone who responded to my post a few days ago when I found 3 old coins in one day and felt like I was starting to catch on to this hobby. Here is my latest update, which obviously I couldn't help but tell you all about. I went back to the park near the house for a couple of hours this morning. I set my discrimination below the factory number 1 setting and the sens on the factory setting. I was going slow and determined to dig everything that registered between JuJu's 8-10 VDI. I am also concentrating on more old coins to go with the clad. Well, after the first 20 mins I was getting a little discouraged and thinking about going back to where I normally set the machine, all I had to show for my effort was 3 pennies and a wad of foil as big as your fist............I was rolling all my foils finds into one ball. LOL However, soon I started atleast finding some silver colored clad, in weird ways. A pocket spill of 6 coins that kept coming up as one penny after another even though there was a quarter and 2 nickels in the successive holes, just one ahead of the other. It was weird in that I found several holes or hits with multiple coins all through the morning. I didn't equal my 3 old coin effort of the other day, but I did have my first 2 silver day. In holes only about 3 inches apart and both reading 7 inches deep, and they were, I measured.............I found first a 1920 Mercury dime and then in the next a 1917 Mercury. Two silvers, back to back within a couple of mins or maybe 90 seconds of each other. A first for me. Since they were so close together I have to believe I had found yet another pocket spill for the day, and this one was probably atleast 60 yrs ago. Makes you wonder what were the circumstances back then. As poorly as the day started, it ended up a great hunt, even though I am still looking for JuJu's gold to pop up for me. LOL, but I know it will happen if I just keeping digging every 8-10 VDI. I am also thinking that if I am finding dime silver, I should be able to pick up quarters and larger silver if I ever get my coil over one. Like I posted the other day, I am told that park has been hunted to death in the past, possibly by people with older machines that didn't have as good signal as we do today and that is why I can find the small dimes, but haven't found any quarters and etc. Maybe the quarters have all been dug there? Thanks again to all those who gave me some insights on the earlier post and feel free to make more suggestions.
