New Excalibur II, DFX w 12" Super and stock coil, XLT with stock coil, 14" & 6" coils
Here's some updated pictures of my January totals. I did get out one more time on Wednesday afternoon for a few more hours. I carried both my XLT and DFX with me. I have been using old faithful (the XLT) but want to try to get back into the DFX. I finished the grid pattern I had started during the last hunt. After completing the grid, I started wondering back thru the area that I had already hunted with the XLT, and picked up quite a few more items that I had missed.

Great job, Cooper. You've obviously have spent a lot of hours detecting this month...with some fantastic results. There is tons of work involved finding such a great amount of relics. :o :o

Thanks for the clear explanations of the detectors. 8)

Thanks again all for the replies.
Yes, I did put in a good bit of time in January. Probably 7 hunts, one full day, and the rest averaged around 3-4 hours.
It also helps to have a good place to go. TONS of homework, a great attitude, some knowledge of your machine, and some good luck.
Several of the "spots" that I hunted belong to the same farmer. I got to hunt these places because of a LOT of hard work on my part. And I do mean physical labor. He will not let anyone do anything on his property without working for it!!!!
I went over there today to try to get some more information on his property and the neighboring property and ended up helping him replace a universal joint in his dump truck.
Anyway, I don't mind helping out, it is well worth it.....obviously from my finds in January!!! I know I am the first person to ever hunt the front yard of his house (with explicit permission) that was built in 1780. There were way too many targets for this area to have ever been hunted, even someone with a Radio Shack detector could have found a ton of stuff!!!

Check out my next post with todays finds. Didn't find much but it was another GREAT day!!!!

unbelievable collection of items!! Keep hitting those spots I'm sure there will be more to be found.
