UVALDE OR BUST!

I said it before but I'll say it again.Being with those other five guys was certainly a lot of fun and I appreciate them putting up with a stick-in-the mud old man like me.And Bobby,I may see you again next month out there as I too have some tickets on those 20 guns they are raffling off. Thanks again Six Pack.

I will have to remember to take a few ashtrays with me.They do have a shortage out there.

WSD you did well and we really appreciated your hard work organizing such a historic spot. I think hunting in the Smithsonian might of been the only place with more history than where we were.

I salute your dedication to providing a place of such resources. I will be stoppin by on my way out of Mexico

Well, when you want to check the authenticity of Cobs, you sometimes have to go where they were made.

Keep in touch Bobby. Let me know if you need a bodyguard.....................

I don't know about this SixPack. As successful as we were,I don't remember a one of us asking where the Newton boys ranch was and who owned it now?Just too much going on,I guess. That will be for another visit.

WSD,

I guess we needed a week or more to do the Newton Boys, there is so much history there, it can slow you down. I can't thank the other 5 of the 6 pack for making this one of the best trips I've had in a long time. Everyone added something to the mix of personalities which made for a fun time. My only regret is it wasn't long enough. I'm going back without a doubt and it won't be a year either. I still feel hammered from this flu crap but I had to say something.

The stories of the legendary visit of 'Peremalfait' to West Texas won't even have died down yet in that time! Think they can handle it?! :D
Tracking down the Newton Boys will be fun, I'll get on that and see what I can find online.
Can't wait to get back to Uvalde and check some more places out either!!

Take care of yourself and get well right away! There's planning to be done!!

Monty the commissary is still open there and some of the base housing, I used to go there to watch the planes along with going to NAS Sanford which is now the Sanford Orlando International Airport.

We had a Conny in VAQ 133, was worried about all those antennas ripping the crap out of me if I ever had to jump from it

The stuff we used to wash planes with they won't even use today to kill rats :icon_scratch:

I beleive that is the place my parents were at when they made me!! :hello2:

I flew on a C-118 constellation (TWA) in '58 from KC to Boston.Good flyer but a little rough in bad weather, which was good for me,I got everybody else's drinks because they were sick from dropping 500-1000ft and back up again.

lol though I will always be a rotorhead I have to say the best place I ever flew in was the nose cone of a P-2 Neptune. While part of the Redtails of VC-8 I got to travel all over South America and the Carribean in one. I was a wonderful place to sit and see God's great world around

Although I had about 1500hrs in a B47 and B52,I enjoyed riding in the nose gunner turret of a B25 the best.We were going from Maine(picked up lobsters)to DC and we came down over the Cheaspeke and saw a boat with a couple nude gals lying on the upper deck and we dove down and all I could see was that water and boat coming up fast.We buzzed them and then the AC said we'd better get out of there before we got reported. Those gals screamed and jumped!

your making me cry actually thinking about all the times I had (good tears)

here is some more oldies

me launching an A-4
Story of the ditch
what was left of it
Pcking up a fired drone
Battleship Winconsin
