Awesome writing WSD, very well written thank you to the town :icon_thumright:

I think we are going to see many many years of great hunting there.

I need a copy of the paper we saw on the gun that was found. I like to put it in with the shell casing I found. Juan I think you have it don't you?

That picture of the 7 foot tall sixpack monster scared even me and I am fearless! If I met him in a graveyard on a dark night I don't know if I'd shoot him or myself! And what's the deal about lthe mysterious backhoe treasure? Did all of you come back or did you bury someone there? I had a hunting buddy that wouldn't bathe and we threatened to bury him as he smelled dead. He said he wasn't but he was always a big liar. Wish I could have made the trip. It would have been worth it just to take in the aura of the old southwest Texas town. Monty

Baggins' camera has to use the biggest film I've ever seen in my life............ either that or everything is just BIGGER in Texas....... :laughing9:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for the "Uvalde Backhoe Treasure" - aka the "BIG DIG", Monty, before posting everything, we have to wait for the authentication and evaluation stuff to go through, then figure out through our collective representative legal firm if we have to fight the government over any of it and what we will have after taxes in any event........
We are hoping these issues are resolved expeditiously, since Bobby and I want to buy a plane to fly around the country picking up and transporting T-Netters to all the future hunts. In the interim, I guess I could get my pilot's license.......... ;D :laughing7: :tongue3:

I discovered as long as you dress like this, you can hunt anywhere at night and be left alone. Reports of a 7 foot tall Bigfoot should taper down now that we have left town.

Apparently most of the Texas locals had never even heard of the legendary "Peremalfait", commonly referred to as the Louisiana swamp monster, the perennial Southern boogeyman whose stories many Cajuns scared their children into good behavior with.
He can be tracked by his noxious 'scent' :laughing9: , and can only be dispatched by a weapon made from a local 'Commidendrum robustum', commonly known as the "Bayou Gumwood" tree..............

Maybe the fact this one had a room at a Uvalde motel threw some of the more educated Texans off. Peremalfait usually aren't seen that far West and definitely aren't often found in motels........ :icon_scratch:

You're right Cyber...everything IS bigger in Texas.....For such a small camera, it sure does take big pics!! I am no smartie when it comes to resizing photos....sorry everyone!

Baggins

I just use paint, click image, click the Stretch and Skew, the drop them to 40 percent on the stretch blocks of vertical and horizontal. Then hit save and it should be a nice size for here

Ah, ah... has the... authentication and evaluation... stuff... come through? Is your collective rep legal firm done yet fighting the government? You pay TAXES on this stuff? Plane reservations, ok, I'm onboard! Oh, no license yet; well, that doesn't matter. Even if you have a license you can overshoot the airport and play on the computer or take a nap!! Nice to think of us, though!!

Well, why wait then. I'm an optimist too! Guess I'll get that XTerra 705 I been looking at!!

Maybe we better wait on the plane tho?!? But I AM partial to the Beechcraft 1900D.........

Beech1900D_1.jpg

Holds up to 21 people (certified for ONE pilot in non-commercial flight), has good cargo capacity (4500 lbs), all-weather capabilities, short takeoff and landing rep and a range of 1200+ miles on aviation grade fuel at just under 300mph being powered by twin Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67D turboprops at up to 25,000 ft. What do you think Bobby!?! Is that enough seating?!?! :icon_scratch: :read2: ???

I guess where we were would also be a good place for a 'rockhounder'.To me a rock is a rock, but I know they said there was flint lying all over the place and I heard them say there were geodes(whatever they are),and doug got a couple of rocks that he said you could cut gem stones out of,I know he brought back a big sack of rocks. And,of course, the arrowheads lying around. So I guess if you are into all that????

I don't know been thinking of a helo so I can just park it in a field and get out and hunt

you need an instrument rating to fly the Beechcraft which is a good idea anyway as we were IFR for over half our trip home

The twin prop is very fuel efficent and you can feather one back once your at attitude and your cruise speed to even save more fuel. :0)
