Vault teller brought up the "F" word today.

I started very slow with this vault teller(older lady). 2 months, just an occasional visit. I ended up opening an account. 2 more months pass. I asked her about ordering me 1 box of halves every couple of weeks. Then 1 box every week, for the last 3 weeks I asked for 2 boxes every week. I called today to make sure my 2 boxes had arrived & she brought up the dreaded word "fee". Already have a back-up plan though. I went and talked to the vault teller with the same bank that is really close to the school where my wife works. No problems. School politics helped me out this time. Will post my results tomorrow night after I pick up. What is the normal fee for boxes? My first encounter with the dreaded "F" word. HH Doug

When a teller brings up the "F" word to me, I bring up the "D" word to them...dump. Like I always tell them...you can either order me coins for free or have me bring them in, count them out and lug them to the vault for me; and i'll take that back in 100's please.

when they bring up fees it is best to move on. you can try ordering there again and seeing if they actually charge a fee. some say they do but it is a bluff. they may become a dump bank but i wouldnt try attitude on them. if u walked into a bank and i was a teller there, i will guarantee ill look up your account and call the manager over. no bank has to take your business. bringing attitude ruins the hobby for all of us

Go to Bank of America. I have no account and only have tried there because a friend used to work there. Told me they always had boxes of coins on hand. Maybe not as much as some of you want to search. I've been doing a box of dimes or nickels each week. But no issues with fees or anything. I ask for it and they give. Money exchanges hands and I leave.

YOU are the customer. Sure, some banks couln't care less about you, but you can't just let some teller walk all over you. They get paid to WORK, not to stand there and tell you what you are going to do.

YOU are the customer. Sure, some banks couln't care less about you, but you can't just let some teller walk all over you. They get paid to WORK, not to stand there and tell you what you are going to do.

I second that, but when the whole branch is apathic and even the manager / cop guarding the penny counter act like A holes, what can you do?

Just ignore them and go about your business. They can't stop you from using the coin machine. And if that rent-a-cop keep harassing you, file a complain with his agency. Like I said before, people nowadays are pansies...they need to stop letting everyone push them around! (I learned that the hard way).

Only 1 bank i go to has charged a fee but i dont mind because it is only $5 and it is the type of box that i like better and few banks have

that's only true if you really are a customer. Banks are businesses. Usually customers let businesses make money. When the "customer" in this case only loses that business' money, what do you think will happen? Just because you are a customer doesnt mean you have infinite rights especially if you carry a minimum balance.
