Vermont stream found a Gemstone???

About 25 to 30 years ago I found a green crystal like stone it is quite large it ways 5.6 oz. you can see through it. I wanted to post a picture of it but the site won't let unless I have 5 posts even though I'm a charter member. I if anyone knows what it might be please reply, thank you.

A green crystal found in Vermont would probably be Peridot or Grossular Garnet.

Could be tourmaline.

Tourmaline is more likely. Eden Mills had grossular garnet. Most green from Vermont is serpentine related.

Thanks, Kitt for the info the only test I did do on it is that it cuts glass. What ever that really means?
