Very old vinyl records

So, my brother and I found all these old vinyl records at the thrift store. A dollar a record. They are very old large 78 speed records. So old, there is only one playable side. The copyright date on one record says 1905. These are VERY old. Here are pictures of one of the records.





Ironically, these are all classical pieces I really like! It was a good deal!

Records can be like coins a 1000 dollar coin or record with a microscopic scratch makes it worth 50 cents lol

@Louie D, Yes, I do. I have a record player. I'm an old-school type of person when it comes to music. I have a whole lot of Records in a collection!

The album shown was made for play on a Victrola, not an electric turntable. Research the albums for value before ruining them.

I recently bought a collection of one's from that era from a garage sale. As 1320 said, check them for anything rare. If they were from a thrift store they might not be searched. I have a 1920s phonograph to play them on and gIves a great old timey sound. You did very well finding those from a thrift store and you got them for a pretty good price.

I just compared prices to places that were selling the exact same record. This Record runs $20 on eBay. Prices defer on other sources, but this is what I found.

You guys are right. It is a very old record. Worth $20 even on eBay! I do have another record player, this one a 1930 record player. The sound of the record player is not working, and I'm currently repairing it. As soon as I get it to work, I'll use these records on that record player.

The values I mentioned were based off of the Rigoletto Caro Nome record.

I have a different opinion about this one. You can't hurt the old record playing it on a more modern turntable. Heck Victrolas just had a steel pin for a needle
