This was my big "non-Civil War" find of the day.

My oldest coin to date, and my oldest silver (obviously).

It is a beautiful, thick, heavy "two bits" 1/4/ cut of a Spanish 8 Reale! It was pretty new when it was cut. Lots of detail. The edging is very clear. This is my very first Spanish silver, and it's cut!!

It gave a perfect 83-84 VDI ... I thought I was digging a Seated Quarter.

This is silver coin #5 for me this year. My "youngest" so far has been an 1893-O Barber Dime. I'm actually going back in time!!
