I bought these cufflinks today, because I saw they had a very small mark on the link. I was hoping it would be one like the French use on gold. I didn't have my loupe handy and being they were only five bucks I thought I'll just get them. It looks to me under magnification the very small mark looks like a spade ♠️ with the letter C in the center having the open end in towards the spade point. Thanks for any help.

Idk the makers mark, but sure looks like gold to me! Nice find! Is the green stripes some type of stone?

Not stone, but they're bands of gold and white metal. I'm thinking they're gold also. I have a set that are 14k gold and marked as such that are about identical in size to these. They weigh together 5 grams. These weigh in at 9 grams and I could gauge in my hand that these had a bit of heft for their size. I will run them probably to the pawn shop for a scratch test tomorrow.

Thanks tamrock. Looked like they had green stripes to me. Yeah only mark I found close was a letter C with a arrow thru it.

It looks like the Carter Gough mark - this is from the 1922 Chicago Silver Jewelry Marks page.
I believe you got it, as it does have a slightly raised line through the center of the C as in image you provided. Thank you so much Bramblefind. The info provided is really looking good, as I'm seeing this maker had produced mostly high end jewelry made of precious metals.
