I checked out a field after harvest today and did great for three hrs in the rain. The site is trashy like hell and years of detecting didn't helped much. So many nails and other iron cover many signals. Now to the finds.

Start with the lead...

...and the buttons... Two cufflinks as well.

Coins from 1600 to present. Faint swastika visible on the zinc coin.

Buckle frags with one very nice decorated one, a shame it's broken.

Heavy silver plated spoon, unbelievable i missed this one all these years.

All roman finds. To me the find of the day is this violin shaped leather mount, rather large with 45mm. Top left.
Top right is a pendant coming off a legionairs belt/cingulum. Bronze bell, and an iron mount(?) with silver inlay.

Ring and dot decoration on a small copper alloy piece

Only three roman coins, but with one in album quality i'm fine with that.

Could be Constantine II. As Caesar, AD 316-337. Æ Follis (2,16g). Treveri (Trier) mint, 2nd officina. Struck AD 335-337. Laureate and cuirassed bust right / Standard between two soldiers, each holding spear and shield; TRP. RIC 586.

Westfront, very nice hunt, I also like the violin leather strap, a very nice find. The barbarous coin came out of the ground quite nicely, a lot of detail on the reverse. Agree, too bad you only found a piece of that buckle, it looks amazingly ornate. Good luck with your hunts. Walt

Nice group of recoveries Westfront

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!!!

BRAVO:hello2: All that in 3 hours? Absolutely amazing!

Very nice variety of finds! :icon_thumright:

The Roman Pendant is pretty cool, but your right the violin shaped mount is the best. Not one I have found yet.

You may know already but the first coin on the left is C
laudius Gothicus II, Alter/ Consecratio.

The only similar ones i found were in the UK Findsforum. Seem to be pretty rare. Yes, Gothicus with his proper shaved beard...

Here some more pics of the mount. It's rounded shape looks to be with intend.

The site is covered in lead, nails, other iron trash, it's very difficult to get the real signals out. There will be more for sure.

Really nice assortment of items.

It will be fun to see the other items when you tease them out of the ground.

Rare to get both attachments intact. Yes, we have a chance over here, but only a small one!

Nice assortment Lu. It will be easier the more trash you get cleaned off. Good luck.

Congrats on it all. The roman coins are amazing and in pretty nice condition for being that old!
