Went out to my spot with the weed eater two days ago and cleared some new ground. So glad I did,

i see that their are two different versions of the Va button, one with the headdress to his right and one with the ghead dress to the left, what is the meaning of this and mine itfalls to his right. now ots off to an Olive oil bath for the night.:icon_thumleft:

Love the button!HH

Never get tired of looking at old buttons. Nice job

That is incredible! I have yet to find a Virginia button. Very good condition I might add

Man, what's with the Virginia buttons lately, and why can't I seem to locate mine??! Super nice, man!

Beautiful button. Still on my bucket list and I live in northern Va!

Don't soak that gem in olive oil
Looks great as is

Great finds.
The button is fantastic.
To me, anything historic is great.
Congrats.

Why? The contrast between the higher portions and lower portions of the design were fantastic in the last photo you took. Why dip it in olive oil and lose that? I bet it's all one color now, and the design is not as bold.

I've never understood why people do this. Olive oil doesn't actually accomplish anything. It is not a cleaning method. It's messy, and it actually has a negative effect on relics in the long run.

That said, Great find. A VA button has been on my list to dig for years.

Please NO OLIVE OIL. You will not be happy in 20 years and it is a beaut right now
