I'll add my vote for the Ace 250 or White's Prizm II, either would be better than the BH. Plus, you're money isn't going to Walmart.

My vote gets the Ace 250 ..When you want to sell a... Garrett..White ...Minelab..Tesoro...You can get about 75% on it from what you paid with a Bounty Hunter you will get almost nothing for it ..And i hear thier service is bad....

I looked at Wally world's detector, I was slightly tempted. However, most everything you get there really is junk. I haven't used the Ace250, but I hear it is a good machine. I bought my Minelab XTerra 70 from kellyco.com. I am please with the service I received from them. They told me the Ace was a great starter detector but I opted for the XTerra because of extras and the extended warranty that they offered at the time.

I say stick with Garrett; Ace 250 or even an older unit, like even a Garrett Ultra model 350,500/1000. I have used the same model I have now back in HI in 1994-1996 on the beaches & surf of Oahu, and no issues at all there, wet & dry sand.

Just my opinion but for the same money you can get a top of the line Garrett or Fishers, or a Whites. You get what you pay for.
SOmetimes you get MORE than what you paid for. As much as I like Whites, I bought the ACE250 and very happy with it. I would really look at the reviews out there about BH products before you make up your mind.

Bounty Hunter MDs find some good stuff. Lots of happy people out there who own them. But there are some unhappy campers as well. Thats true of WHATEVER md you by. Still,
if I knew then what I know now, I would NEVER have bought the BH just because of quality issues.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.Not easy is it.
