so i went out in a fit...drove halfway to the property...turned into walnut canyon...national monument...
i normally stay out of the area...tourists everywhere...there were germans, english, i think a few french, and a class of 5th graders...dang group of little native girls took one look at me and followed me everywhere...their mothers were a bit shy and stayed at eyeball.
ended up helping a couple of teachers give the tour..lol...nope i know nothing.
i was just trying to get some pic's...
stop in the trail to take one...here comes a crowd..i stand aside...
then the smokie puts his hand on my shoulder as he is addressing the crowd...a group of adults from back east had said..." oh,i bet they (the sinagua) curled up in muddy corner to stay warm"
BEEEEP WRONG!
he puts his hand on my shoulder..." i beg your pardon, but, they lived more like hippies....peaceful, naked, eating nuts and berries, loved jewelry..." and went on to give them a wonderfully accurate description of the natives life style...
of course big mouth here is chittering along...poor tourists...hope they retained some of it.
i hope you all enjoy these shots...i need a modern camera.
PS. the entire canyon complex probably had about two thousand residents...every overhang had someone living there at one time..
