I am new to gold prospecting. I am very interested in it. I am willing to do some work if someone will teach me. I live in washington in a town outside of seattle. I am young and I really want to get into gold. If anyone in the area wants an extra hand for some knowledge. Im the one. If anyone has any advice on getting started with gold prospecting let me know please. Thanks in advance.

Shimp, if you're willing to drive up this way I'd be glad to give ya a hand.
And, the only work you'll be doing is the same digging, classifying and
bucket carrying that we all do in our endless search of that lustrous golden
metal. BTW, it's not really work when ya have fun doing it...8-)

We could meet up in Mount Vernon and go from there, so plan for a full
day (or till you get too pooped to pan...)

Do you have pans or any other gear? If not, no worries as I've got plenty
of pans, sluices and anything else we'd need

No better teacher for the basics than "Hands On". We all had someone help us out when we were first starting into this magical hunt for gold. I feel that it's only fair and respectful to those that taught us to pass what we've learned on to the next generation.

...yes indeed! Hopefully "plus a little new knowledge!"

If you put you town in you profile that helps abunch. There are a lot of towns outside of Seattle! LOL. But what Dizzy says here too.

I can teach the ways of the jackass prospectors from the days of old its all about a lot of walking and a lot hard work diggin in the Desert. Chasing hard rock gold pockets using old timer technology.

Shimp: Sorry to hear that Mt. Vernon is too far to travel, but I know of no place
around Seattle (proper) that would be worth spending the time working. I'm afraid
your an hour or more from any decent prospecting spots, but maybe someone closer
to town has ideas.

It's been years since I was in the area of Mount Vernon and Marysville. My grandmother had a small farm in Arlington. It had a small creek in the back of the property and as a kid in the eighty's I would go out there with a cheap black gold pan and try to get rich! I did find some color, and even had fun with my cheap Radio Shack detector there as well!

Dizzy you are a class act! Like so many others here it is great to see those that know willing to take others by the hand and spend time with them and pass on the know how. Good for you! Makes me proud to be a member here.

I might just have to make the drive out there. It woukd be worth it.
With an offer like that from DizzyDigger I would for sure make the drive...no way around it.
