Hi all,
The cornfields I hunt got harvested a couple of days ago so I got right out to hunt two of them. Friday I went to a field I have only hunted a couple of times & had gotten the 1/2 reale that I had posted previously & a arrowhead. That field let loose of seven buttons, a drive punch & fragments of brass & copper & lead, nothing exciting.
Today I went to the old reliable field that I call the coin field because I have dug between 50 & 60 or maybe more vintage coins & GAPMetal has gotten some from. Today I put all my concentration on the front head row and hunted for about 4 hours. I dug nine buttons, one with a good amount of gold gilt, a 1876 seated dime with a plow nick & some staining. The seated was a surface find but the detector caught it being about 1/2 exposed. I found two wheats, a 29 & 35 which are the newest coins I found there, the newest was a 1909 (not VDB). I found three pieces of flatware, two were silver plated. Lots of the usual trash.
Thank for looking & may your coil pass over some treasure, Greg
