The dealer whose ad it is, is in Indonesia.....Codan's Minelab plant is in Malaysia, neither of which are located in China. Don't know for sure where final assembly was done, could be Australia since that is only 4000 miles away...

I would say a lot of people getting detectors right out of the box that don't work could be comeing from there....... To dealers that want to make a big buck fast........That add does say made in Australia could that be were all the dealers are getting them from................ And they have... minelab... Garrett & Whites?

im with keppy. i have only bought 2 brand new machines in my life. a garrett cx plus. from garrett in texas. and a 1235x fisher from clevengers. that was several years ago before all these goofball scammers tried to take over our market. ill stick with used from now on, ya,know. we can shoot a missle from hundreds of miles away and hit some jerk right in the head with it as he is hiding in a cave, why then cant we stop the rest of the world from trying to ruin us?

It is very sad indeed! It's bad enough that almost everything is made in China or Asia for export to the states. Now the real corporations have to deal with crappy made clones that the majority of new hunters won't know are super inferior to the real ones.

They'll just think the machines stink and bad mouth the product! BUT, the most messed up part is it could really hurt the sales from the "real players" and maybe this why some prices are on the rise??

I guess the best thing to do is only purchase only from a "reputable dealer" and hope you get the real deal too!

the fact People don't like china ?
The Fact they are Counterfeit ?

IF They are Actual Clones,
the only differences I see would be
Price & No repairs

In some cases Considering Price, $400. vs $1500
Disposable mAY still be a good trade off.

of course i'm still conditioned to want real

You mean Minelabs are disposable. Mine have been for about 7 years now!

Well my sovereign lasted 10 Years
with heavy use, before it started needing repairs.

IF I could buy a $200.00 Disposable sovereign
that lasts 10 years,
would work for me.

Even 5 Years !

They wouldn't sell them for $400. They might offer them for $200. less than the street price and the buyer would think that's a good deal.
