Hello, looking to educate myself, before I invest in equipment. Mesmerized by all the cool stuff members have found. While I live in SC near lakes, I wish I was oceanfront, love jewelry!
I'm looking forward to learning from seasoned MD's, can't wait to get out there & find stuff!

Hi Everyone!
So I bought two detectors this summer. One for the girlfriend and myself. So far, we are hooked!
I used to collect coins and I love history. It was the only subject I excelled in at school. So needless to say, metal detecting fits me well. Not only do I enjoy the finds, but the research that goes along with it. I have
Discovered many great areas and learned lots along the way. The Ottawa area has produced great finds. Offering great shore hunting and vintage farm lands. Plus lots of history to boot! So if your in the area, give it a few swings!
Also don't hesitate to drop me a line.

Ryan....

I am anxious to go out and dig up a treasure. If any tips on where to look that would help me in my mad search please feel free to let me know for I am very interested in getting started. I am about 45 miles south of Wilks-Barre. Much appreciated and let's get started!!!

Hello to all...I live in Butler,TN. which is about 10 minutes from NC border 30 minutes from Boone, NC. I have been collecting rocks and such since a child and was so happy to find this site and see many others with the same interest...Much luck to all on their hunt.

Hello, my husband and I are brand new to the site and to treasure hunting. I came across this site by accident earlier this year when I was looking for information about a coin. After reading some of the wonderful finds, I turned to my husband and said, "We have GOT to get a metal detector! This looks like alot of fun!" We spend alot of time treasure hunting at antique stores, thrift shops and yard sales just as a hobby. It gives us quality time together. I thought this would add to our bonding time, get us out for some fresh air and exercise and who knows...maybe make us RICH and FAMOUS!! LOL!
So, we just bought 2 detectors...another treasure because we got both for $22 at an auction. One is a Discovery 3300 and one is a Coleman. We don't know a single thing about either one and have no experience with metal detecting. But half the fun on any journey is the adventure along the way! Thank you for this wonderful, inspiring website. Here's to hoping we all find the ultimate treasure...living life to the fullest and enjoying every minute!

Greetings from Chesapeake, Virginia. Name's Jason. I picked up my first MD last week, it's a Fisher F4. Took it out to the Sandbridge area of Virginia Beach this weekend for about 3 hours each day and now I'm 27 cents closer to that fortune I've been dreaming about.

Great website and thanks for the welcoming thread.
