Well I can never say THAT again!!

Had an hour or so this evening and decided to hunt in the neighbors yard (with permission) just to kill time...Found all of this stuff....

Just about ready to call it a night and got another signal in the nickel range which is usually a pop tab or nail etc...But figured what the heck....dug it and about 3 inches down I find it....a 1947 Nickel..my oldest find to date. So before closing the hole I run the pinpointer around and get another signal to the left side an inch or so....I dig that and what do you know...a 1946 silver Dime!!!!

My first ever silver!!! Two in one hole!!! Guess I can never again say I never found silver....I know its not much to most, but I am still smiling....Shorty

Congrats on your first silver. Never say its not much, you have to start somewhere in this hobby. I'm sure if you stick with it, over the next 30 years you to will find Mercs, Barbers, and Seated coins. Dont forget about the tokens and relics also. Many of us on this forum have been hunting for 20 to 30 + years, but we dont look down at those of you just getting started. Thats a great first silver for you and never be afraid to make a post based on how unimportant you may think it is. Indiana is a great Midwestern state with a lot of history, and I anticipate more good finds in your future.
