said I was waiting till after my retirement to sit down and melt my lead
pre 2000 - I scrapped my lead and would put money to a hunt trip usually
I sold some of the better sinkers for a little more than melt value
I also was into shooting blackpowder and used some to cast musketballs
I also was heavy into saltwater fishing for awhile and bought saltwater sinker molds
and melted the older ones and cast new ones
Sooo...all you see here is not all ive found - probably would have double
since ive been hunting since 1975...most of these are post 2000
I know guys that throw their sinkers out farther, throw in trash, give them to fishermen where they
are at or leave them in a pile in fishing area for fishermen to grab
To me theyve always been another source of treasure.
Ive hunted with guys that have complained "crap!...another sinker!"
but to me when you find them - unless recently lost - that someone missed them (if theyre deep)
and there could be gold and other goodies there or that no ones been to that spot in awhile
or its virgin
So i will be starting to melt and cast into clean lead ingots and will try and get a little more than scrap
melt - sportsman clubs wil some times buy clean lead to cast bullets - if no sale then i'll
scrap

I can not even move this container - most of the other containers are like 30 to 50 lbs.

I’d gladly pay $1 a pound. I make my own jigs. Have a tackle
Company.
Id gladly take a 2 hr drive to deliver if you are willing
to pay $1 a lb and buy all i have

That seems like a decent offer to buy and to sell.
While running my scrap company I used to sell metals to folks.
The price was scrap and a 1/2.
So what ever the scale price was I added 50% to the price.
If the item was in like new condition (plumbing parts)
The price was 50% over what I received at the brokers.
Nobody ever complained on this arrangement as it was a win-win on both sides.

Nice haul on the lead.
Me... if it ain't gold/silver I give it away. All goes to friends that fish, sometimes they return the favor with something I may need. The good, most of the spots I do hunt were beaches only, except one. Dug so much lead I would have stopped hunting it if it were not loaded with gold. Crazy is a big storm came along March 14th 2021 and blew every thing away.. sinkers, gold totally gone. I take someone there and tell them how well I did they would laugh and call me a liar. Luckily, I got most of the gold found on video.. Great memories.. Saved. 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️
