Great finds!!! I live in gardens and was wondering if you know of any clubs in the area? I have been looking for a place where I can swap info and maybe get a partner for night hunts. I am no slacker and do plenty of research and hunting, although I am still learning. Any info would be appreciated.

Gold Coast Treasure Club has monthly meetings with speakers and programs the second Thursday of every month at 7:30 PM, January-November. The meetings are located at the West Palm Beach Garden Club in Dreher Park, West Palm Beach. Guest are welcomed.

umm..I looked but can't figure out what you mean by hamburger bean,,,where is it?

OK Syko here goes


Lets deal with the Hamburger Bean first. It is inside the earring next to the baby food jar lid. They are one of many "Sea beans" These things grow in the Rain Forrests of South America, float down the rivers into the ocean and make their way to distant shores where they wash up in the surf. These particular ones are as hard as agate. In many countries in South America they polish them and make jewelry out of them. They also carry them in their pockets, believing that it will bring good luck. I collect them as I find them. In a years time I have found about 30. I have found them on the gulf coast side of Florida, so you may have them in Texas as well. Here are a couple of close up pics for your viewing pleasure.

I use a screen back scoop with a brace on the back so I can use my foot if I need to for dry sand and a diamond head for water.
