Just wondering what your local "I buy gold & silver" dealers are paying for scrap sterling silver. Obviously value is only 92% of spot....our few locals are paying around 60% of spot....this seems low to me. Let me know.

I tested my competition locally. I played dumb and brought in several ounces of silver to see what 5 different CASH4GOLD type places would pay. Four of them refused to buy, saying they only buy gold. The one that would buy low balled me. (and they heavilly advertise they pay the best)

I took $270 worth of sterling to the local places back in October.
Best offer I got was $50

I sent it to ARA

When silver is at $48 an oz my refinery pays me $1.28 per .925 gram. I pay my customers $.90 per gram on small trades and up to $1.05 per gram on very large transactions. My local competition pays anywhere from "not interested in silver" to "$.55 per gram".

There is a reason why i never see anyone else with 5lb serving trays at the refinery.
