Hey All, Wicka here :hello:
Now my Ole' Reliable bank, the one my family works at, has cut me off from boxes... :(
I can still get CWR's only, and whatever loose Mwr's. So now I have to go to a city for a bank. What kinds of banks of you all received the best customer service from?
What banks order boxes w/out fees?
I'm going to be going once a week, so hoping to find that there will be a bank that will order halves. I'd get 4 boxes a week! Where would I dump though.. No machines around take halves. Anyways.
What banks do you use? Good/Bad experience?
Anyone here CRH in Mass?

It depends on the branch. One BOA may give you fees, another may not. The only thing that is certain is that TD has coin counters that change at $100, and can't order halves. Stop at every bank and inquire as to whether they order halves. TD can be used for dumping, but like I said before, for one box, you need 5 bag changes. The good part is that you get lots of foreign later, some of which could be worth some money, usually in exchange. I'm up to about $30 in Canadian (since my 2011 trip where I spent all of my spares).

If you dont already have a dump bank you might be able to use the TD bank if you set up an account there. From what everyone says they find lots of extra money in the coin tubes. Then find a locol bank to order from. I use my local bank and theyre the best. I can dump and pick up at different branches.

In my area BoA orders through Garda, and I have one branch that orders up to 10 boxes of halves a week, another up to 8 boxes a week, and another reluctant branch that ordered 4 boxes once. But all fee-free.

Chase orders fee-free weekly orders up to those same numbers. Different branches order different amounts depending on their vault size. Smaller the branch smaller the amounts that they're willing to order.

I found out that TD Bank sends their halves to Garda, as that is what their bags say (that I saw at a couple of branches when they were doing bag changes. I don't dump halves there anymore since I don't want to dump into my supply. Interestingly enough at least the last time I was dumping at my local TD branch the halves bag change was at $500. Other branches in larger cities were set at $100.

All the TDs in my area are 100$ so I always need a bag change when dumping my 300$ or so (I split it up vs 500 since there are several close).

I know a few local credit unions have 1000$ counters I'm about to join since I'm eligible.

Hi Wicka, I would find a bank that is not overly busy with customers all of the time. These are the banks where the tellers are stressed out and less patient. I would find a medium sized bank with a few branches in the area but not a ton of customers. Also you have to be SUPER nice! Treat every teller like they are your grandma or mom or something and suck up to them. If you do that, it's easy to get them to make special efforts for you.

From professional and personal banking experiences I could only recommend Bank of America.

NEVER a single problem and they even call to tell me when they get my coins.

BoA is poop. Good to dump in/on/around. I am loving PNC. Your best bet is visiting the closest banks to your location and then spreading out if you can't lock anything up. How do you dump your halves now?

And in my area PNC won't order halves without major fees. Just goes to show that each of us have to check with the different banks in our area, because bank policy can vary from state to state. I believe most of this is because of all of the banks that merged together when the industry went through the major revamping in recent years. Bank A bought banks B & C, then renamed them A. Banks B & C were slow to update to Bank A's policies regarding special orders, like coin orders for non-business accounts (personal, like ours).

And a local BoA branch was the first branch in my area out of my 3 ordering banks that allowed me to order 10 boxes from my first week of ordering of boxes. Never any fees.

Anyway, the moral to the story is each of us can ask for advice here but have to check what our local branches will do for us.

I don't do halves. Bank cut me off from all boxes. So I guess I'll just set up halves now. I'd probably wrap and dumb.

sackOsilver - we're in the same general area. Just curious, why don't you like BofA?

PNC is fine, but since a first box from them that was above-average for me, and had a Walker and a Ben, their boxes have been below-average. They seem like heavily searched coins (few NIFCs and no proofs, in addition to very little silver). Some PNC branches around here have machines that take halves and have never filled up for me - they take a lot more than TD and no bag changes. So, I think they are a preferred dump bank by other searchers, at least in this area. They were originally a dump bank for me, and I might go back to that.

Probably out of principle lol. Never received anything that can remotely be considered even below average customer service. They slap fees on everything, and the branches close to where I live employ complete degenerates. PNC has been pretty steady for me since I started picking up there. Average 3 silvers a box for the last 30-33 boxes (lost track).

Just don't rewrap in the original wrappers. Makes it so much better for everyone. Buy wrappers online and wrap them in the CWR wrappers.

Depends. All my dump banks empty the rolls into bags. I reroll into the original wrappers. Before I did this I asked my dump banks. They said they had to empty them into bags.

Saves me time rerolling.
