What do you do with chewed up pennies???

We all have them....chewed up newer pennies. The coin machines spit them right back out. What does everyone do with them I have a bowlful right now.

count them, roll them, take them to the bank. Still is money. The bank should be able to handle them. HH Gayle

Those things drive me crazy. Don't run them through the coin counting machines because they will often jam them and that is embarrassing when the store manager has to come and open the thing up and pry them out of the sorter.

I have a 'penny garden' where I throw such stuff; the contents will baffle the next owner.

I spoke with my local bank manager about those pennies and she said that all I had to do was bring them in and they will exchange them for me.

The good news is that banks have to accept them as they still are legal tender, just like ripped dollars. The bad news is waiting in line with a ton of bad coins

I roll them and take them to the bank. Never had a problem.
