They don't smash pumpkins any more. For decades you couldn't keep pumpkins out for decoration, kids were constantly smashing them. We used to do it. Now kids are so engrossed with their face buried in the phone, they walk right by pumpkins without noticing them. I haven't seen a single pumpkin smashed this Halloween. Years ago, kids took my gourds and tried to smash them.
