I was looking at some of the flakes I recovered. This one stood out, it’s a really nice bit of reed springs chert. Then I was looking closer and it appears there is a scalloped edge. I’ve turned it every which way and still don’t see any significant scars on the back side but the edge and general curve has me thinking it could be a flake tool. I tried my best with low angles and bright light with the pictures but I’m curious what you guys think, I don’t want a subtle tool to end up in a flake pile.

I’m sure your right it will cut, it’s funny that I keep thinking about the saying if you find a true artifact you won’t have much doubt about it, which I think is true for the well made pieces but there’s definitely a more subtle category with things like this. Pieces that may have been single use or a get the job done in a pinch type things.
