Good news just came in....My old friend that lives in the Philippines was in Sacramento when the storm hit....He has receive a letter from his wife and they are all ok....As far as his home they have not been able to get to it...He is going back Dec 3[SUP]rd[/SUP]....He has been recalled by the Coast Guard reserve is the only reason he can go back.....Art

Well Art, I can see the colors good now, color was going out on the old computer running WXP (Professional). It was a lot of fun moving the old heavy tower/tube monitor off the desk top in my computer room. I'd forgotten how heavy they were, the tower was a custom professional model.....really surprised it lasted all these years under heavy use. Things slowly were going out, the latest versions of GE don't work in it anymore.

Went to Walmart sales yesterday after Thanksgiving meal, got a printer real cheap, also a smart flat screen HD/TV to use as an external monitor for the new laptop (bought about 2 years ago as a backup). Laptop is dual core media, until now haven't been using it much.....was keeping it ready to replace the old tower/monitor.

With external monitor and external mouse it's going to be easier to edit maps/photos and look so much better!

Hey Jr..Thank you...I have not been on that side of the road yet.....I know that there are 3 caves heading toward that mountain....I think there is a pile of gold across the main highway but no access to it....It is on the property where they drop real bombs..the roads back in there are great and are maintained by navy sea bees....They have something that they spray on the sand in those sand washes and the top 6 inches turn to rock...I fell thorough the stuff when I was turning around one day...5 hours later I was able to get out.Just waiting for June again...those mountains turn Yellow with flowers and are so pretty that time of year...Art

When we got the broadband service, they put a wireless antenna on my old computer, think it was made by the same company as the router because both have this large L-shape antenna (can be moved or made straight) which look the same.

Well, I looked on ebay and found 2 unopened boxes of the same brand a seller had, the reason lost the wireless driver on the new laptop. When I put the antenna and driver disc installed the automatic updates downloaded a new wireless driver that had been lost. I still use the USB antenna, along with the internal wireless, both seem to work together giving me a dual connection to the broadband. My laptop is dual core, so it can handle the extra pull.

Hey Red...I have an old XP program called Microsoft Digital Image Pro 9....I can lighten and adjust the contrast on maps...crop and resize...do about anything I want..got off e bay for 10 bucks..Art

It was the web designers choice back then, now Photoshop is the professional's choice. Paint Shop Pro came packaged with Animation Shop, can turn your coins into spin or flipping animations.
