Found this the other day where I find some pottery, etc, was told it was a counter weight for an Atlatl , made from soap stone, hope someone can help with identification and value

That's a pretty unusual design, similar to a keeled boatstone. Keep in mind, all these ancient artifacts uses are speculation, as there's no one one from the time frame to verify it for you.

Should be 2 holes so could be a pendant but I’ve never seen one like it before and I’ve seen many. Very unusual

Could be a BoatStone or a Gorget from the book I just looked in.
Some Gorget names were
Oval Humped
Spineback
Ridged or Humped Gorget. All looked like your example along with the Boatstone

Thank you for the info , have found many artifacts over the years , but nothing like this , also a photo of an arrowhead and shark tooth which looks as though it was attached to an arrow, some pottery from the same area also

Yes, that tooth looks like it was modified for halting. Keep the pics coming. We all enjoy them.

Never seen anything quite like it but gut says some kind of atlatl weight. Shark tooth is awesome, nature’s arrowhead.
