Yes it has a very low tone on my md, and does not stick to a magnet. I polished it up today on a buffing wheel and its looking a lot like gold

get yourself a peice of bathroom tile. on the unglazed side of it, scratch the "gold" on it a lot to get a good mark. then get a known gold karat and scratch it right next to it. if the "gold" peice comes out with a black mark,it aint gold and if it comes out gold colored youll be able to approximate what karat gold it is! but before you cleaned it up, the part that had the copper on it looked just like my brazing rod when melted down.the copper spot was my flag. theres lots of fakes out there.

I actually stopped at a jewelry store that buys gold today and they tested it for me and said it was positive for 7 or 8 k and they scratched their heads trying to figure out how I found a gold nugget in michigan

Be careful you could start a gold rush if you talk about it too much. Just think of waking one morning to find 10,000 guys looking for gold all around your house......................63bkpkr
