What was it like in 64?

Anybody CRH in 1964? I mean you could just go to the bank and everything would be silver right? (minus cents and nickles) Or would you just throw the silver back and keep really old coins?

Born in '48, collected mercs and buffalo nickels and had complete sets by 1960. By '64, took them to Julio's ice house on Culebra Rd. and traded them for a couple of cases of beer. He sold to all us high schoolers. Thought it was a good trade then, still think so today. Still have my wheat collection from day 1 to the end, but haven't looked at them in years. Except for the '09s vdb which I sold to put money down on a bike.
