What would you do???

If you purchased a solid roll of silver halves, quarters or dimes from a bank and it had the customer's name, address and phone number on the roll would you contact them, inform them of their mistake and pay them face value or a portion of face value for it?

Turn it back in to who I am reading this question and I'm thinking... Oh hell yes I would call the person to ask them if I could take anymore coin off their hands... Then I get to the part where it says to pay them spot price... etc. I was absolutely shocked when I realized that is where the post was going.

The way I see it, is that if WE (we as in CRH'ers) wanted to pay face for some silver, we all know many ways to do that. I think I speak for all of us when I say, the reason we CRH is to find silver at Face Value, and so you are suggesting that when we finally do find that full roll of silver, at Face... That we change our minds and then go out of our way some more, spend more time, buy more gas driving all over everywhere and back... than we already have searching in the first place, just to give money away in the name of karma... Sorry but I do not believe anybody in the world who CRH for silver would do that... Period... I cant even imagine... Crazy question.

Silver Spoon can give away silver if he wants but I did not say I would do it myself, please re-read my above posts, I was just asking the question because in another thread I have someone alluded to the fact that we should alert people of their mistakes if we see them doing it (turning in silver at a bank at face) and the thought never even crossed my mind. I would never contact a person if I had their information, just a hypothetical question is all.

Anytime I get a roll with somebody info on it I just sharpie it out and move on. I don't see why anyone would consider contacting the person on the roll. Think about it, the roll is in your possession, but that's not your name on it right? So how do you know that the coins inside even came from this person? This wrapper could have exchanged hands 1000 since that person wrote their info down. Im not saying all people are liars and cheats, but by contacting the person your really just opening yourself up to be scammed.
