What would you rather find...

If you could find one of the following coins and could never sell it, what would you rather find? :help:

-a BU Flying Eagle, Indian Head or Wheat Penny.
-a BU V, Buffalo or War Nickel.
-a BU Barber, Merc, or Roosie dime.
-a BU Commemorative, Barber, Standing Liberty or Washington Quarter.
-a BU Commemorative, Barber, WL, Franklin, 90% Kennedy or 40% Kennedy Half.
-a BU Commemorative, Morgan, Peace, or 40% Ike Dollar.

I decided to leave the odd balls out of this because I cannot remember them all but I believe there is a silver trime, a 3-cent nickel, a half dime and a 20 -cent piece, older versions (seated and bust), gold pieces and probably more. If you want to vote for one of those go right ahead! :thumbsup:

Remember, you can never ever sell the coin for profit so the question is what would you rather find and keep for your collection? For fun, throw in some dates and mint marks as well!!! :icon_sunny:

My vote is for a BU 1926-S Oregon Trail Commemorative Half Dollar with rainbow-toning. :thumbsup:

I like Britannias too, I think I have 5 of the silver ones total, one of the coin dealers I go to prices them no more than generic bullion, where if you buy it online via APMEX or eBay you have to pay $50+ for a common one or well over $100 for some of the more attractive designs. I also like the Gothic Florins and I've got one I bought off of ebay for bullion but its well worn, I'd like to find a higher grade specimen but I'd like to look at it in person first before I spend $75+ on it. In the same vein, I also like the portrait of Victoria on the Newfoundland silver/gold coins, but the reverse is just bland, I actually picked up a 20 cent coin from Newfoundland, it is currently a placeholder until I can find a reasonably priced 20 cent US.

And yes, I agree on the 10 Złotych coin, I might have to search eBay for that one.

Not on your list, but i'd want to find a high grade example of 18th century Spanish silver(any denomination).

I've shared the story in the past but not recently. It pertains to the 69-S DDO. It too is my choice to find and nemesis. The story below gives me inspiration.

A copper hoarder was a bit compulsive in the 90's by separating by year/mintmark. He just kept hoarding and never sold as the return wasn't worth what time and effort he had put into his hoard. He came to the decision to finally turn his rolls into the bank as they were taking too much space in his garage. He asked a friend who collected cents if he was interested in any of the rolls before he turned them in. The friend indicated his preference for a number of rolls. This arose the suspicion of the hoarder and encouraged him to conduct some background research on the dates. He learned about the 69-S DDO, and low and behold he had one in his hoard. It was certified by PCGS and sold at auction for $400k+.

This is what drives me in my cent quest.

My dream find would be any seated liberty silver. I love the design and the history at the time they were minted. Finding one with my MD would be the best. I would not be concerned with the condition as long as it was definable.

I would love to find any of the 1921 Liberty Halves. The liberty halves are hands down my favorite coin and 1921 series are all I need to complete my collection.

1856 Flying Eagle Penny. Mostly because it's one of my favorite coins and I love the design. :P

The commemorative's are nice though. In fact I just saw several on an auction site out of Japan the other week. :P Think they were going for 50,000 yen at the time. Roughly 500+ US dollars.
