I'm curious as to know what folks think of as a good machine for coins an jewelry in parks an tot lots , I'm talking $400 on up machine""" NOT a Ace 250""", I want a good mid range priced machine that does good on coins an jewelry.

Many of the Tesoro detectors like the Vaquero or Cibloa will fit the bill. The Cibola has a set GB like the Ace 250 while the Vaquero has a manual GB. Don't worry about setting the GB either as it is simple to set. Raise an lower the coil while adjusting the GB knob on way or the other till the threshold remains the same tone in the air as near the ground while in All Metal. :thumbsup:

the mark 1 may be an old machine but will handle coins in parks and other areas as good as the rest. the tone id is the best in the business and the analog meter is dead on.

Id say look for a clean used Whites Xlt. They seem to do pretty well in both categories or even a nice used whites m6.

i have an m6 and love it....for coins and jewelry it's hard to beat, i prefer it over the mxt because of the multi tonal response that further aids you in determining what the target is without constantly looking at the screen....whatever you decide on i would get a unit that displays vid numbers and not one that simply has a segment type of id system..there is a fine line between pull tabs and good targets that most notch machines cannot discern well enough between
