Dug......this hole was forced IN....the off center hole at the top makes some sense if it is a snuffer...the handle that was attatched would not pivot with the hole off center....Does that make sense?

Man... I've been gone awile, but that last pic with the offset hole is interesting... first time I saw that.

Hmmmm.... I'm not sorry i started the snuffer thing, But now I'm wondering...

The squashed bit you are pointing to was probably done by the plough.

Been away fore a while...

Wow, that thing is MUCH smaller than I thought. I retract my "carriage shaft tip" idea (like anybody cares...).

Although, I still contend that it was attached to something via the side holes and then "torn" from it.
