My hunting partner scored again yesterday on a short trip to a local park. It is amazing that we can get so excited over just a couple of wheat pennies, when before starting MDing we just spent them, or if dropping one, it wasn't worth the effort to pick it up. Small find, but still exciting!

The backs on those first two are very nice. Congrats.

I know the feeling and agree with you. It wasnt even a year ago that I searched my jar of coins looking for silver, (found a silver dime, and a silver quarter BTW-it is what started this obsession). I also found several wheat pennies, (between 5-7ish). Wouldn't ya know it, I didnt even check them for dates before I tossed them back into the bag that I cashed in at the bank. :BangHead:

Now, less than a year later, and I religiously coin roll hunt, and metal detect, and like you say, I become giddy when I find a "wheat cent".... It is funny how things change.

Happy hunting.

Chris.
