There is an empty lot that a church uses for overflow parking, my permission is open for anytime other than Sunday mornings. There are targets everywhere, mostly trash and zincs on the surface. I cherry picked the high numbers, if there was a target below 80, I avoided it, unless it was deep. This is the kind of place that once a target is located, the dig sucks. A layer of gravel beneath the turf, followed with sugar sand. Aside from .53 in clad, there wasn't a single wheat penny to be found...
I am OK with that though, there was plenty of silver!:headbang:

The 1943 P war nickel, two Mercs, 1927, and 1942 D, and my second fat Franklin in 3 weeks...WOO HOO!!!
The pres. token was a heartbreaker.... thought it was a Large Cent.:laughing7:

Congrats on the silver. Wat a great day you had

I'd make that silver/wheat trade any day, Dave........good job on the diggin'. I've got a few of those church parking areas, too. My long staple puller/pry bar has gotten dull using it as a drill in those stones...............

Id rather find silver than harvest wheat I have had some good signals that I passed on that were in rock hard dirt where I needed a pick but very rare that I do That. Great Finds!!!!!!

I love those war nicks! Cheers bud

Wow no messing with pennies, just straight to the good stuff. Great day you had

I'll get those pennies later, there are tons of them, my machine was singing all morning with targets.
Thanks for looking, hope to get more next week.

Awesome job on the great finds! Still looking for Ben #1.. Congrats!!

I feel sooooo bad for you, hopefully your life will start looking up soon

Superior Silver B "Dubbya" D! I expect my Lesche to ricochet off of rocks every time I dig something here in the Ozarks...good thing it is ONE TOUGH TOOL! I have yet to find any silver coin larger than a dime. So my bucket list is still full of "wants." I hope you find many more goodies on the "Blessed overflow" site. Sub 8-)

That is a great silver haul. Hopefully when you find wheat's you might find an indian or two.

Looks like a productive place to detect! Congratulations! :occasion14:

Congratulations on a great day. Great to have a permission like that.

Been finding wheats a bit north of u in punta gorda. Finally got home and doing my first metal detecting ever. 4 days and a huge haul. Will have to my first post soon to show all I've found.

Your on fire! Good hunting, I want to see that token better, both sides please? I love tokens more than Mercs, sorry, I love Mercs too, but I love tokens more then Mercs! You can love Merc more than tokens. I'm just saying I love tokens, if you know what I'm saying? Just saying.

I drool over the turf in PG....I work up there a couple times a week, and it's all I can do to not secure permissions up there. Thing is, as a weekend warrior, it will take a lifetime to hunt FM... I can't wait to see you pull some serious coin, kinda makes me happy that a Tnet member is clearing out the history in Charlotte....good luck brother

I have only ever pulled 3 IH cents, all 3 were in a lawn from a home built in the 20's....There is more big silver in the ground here than Indians....and I'm ok with that that!
