Who are the most successful of this generation?

I did-----------------I found a great job, stuck with it, advanced, and retired.
MD'ing is a recreational adventure, very few have retired from their finding. Mel Fisher????????????????

Other than a couple of those Minelab UK hunters that uncovered those multi-million$ hoard pots, I doubt there's gonna be (m)any names out there. Some of them do pretty good tho, especially when you factor in their retail sales. Those guys like MF are OBSESSED and will never retire (and that's not a bad thing!).

I retire in a few months. That's where the money is at.
Swinging my coil is strictly a hobby. I find loads of clad but the good and silver finds are few and far between.

The people that hit it big are generally smart enough to keep it quiet.

It's a shame in some ways, I'm sure there are a lot of fascinating stories that will never be told.

The ones that made it big were either designers or promoters and didn't quit their day jobs. You
had plenty of wannabe's who wore their jungle jims for self promotion. The advantage of getting
old is you remember too much.

Game? What game?

I could retire with one of last years finds if I sell it for spot price.
Not sure how far that several dollars would go ,but sure... I could retire, technically I may be retired , but retire can be defined many ways.
My truck needs retired. Seriously. About three quarter of the treadwear has worn through.

I'll go into full retirement just as soon as aluminum sells for $2400 an ounce.

One post wonders make me nervous!

There probably have been many great finds made by just the average guy working a 40+ hrs. job p/week. But I'd bet the majority of them stories will never be told (maybe way down the road?). If anyone is ever lucky enough I advise to take a million pics / video / document day & time and keep your mouth shut.

Sounding off on a "retirement class find" would get far too much attention from all sorts of malignant predatory individual people or groups.

Loose lips sink ships.

I retired and now live off treasure hunting. So, I guess I'm the guy

Pension helps a little too :laughing7:

Well, I guess I am too! Those zincolns really pay well.....

If you think zincolns pay well.... You ought to see what I get for these old horseshoes from my honey hole area here!!!!!!!! I'm knocking down the big bucks here.
