What's wrong with this picture..............

At least everything is spelled right!

Haven't done alot of fly fishing. Do they use diving plugs?

[d2]

Or is it on the wrong side of the road?...d2

Good eye, but I think they put them all on that side heading in to the bitteroot.

[releventchair]

The fisherman has the reel on top of the rod. A baitcaster reel is supposed , vs traditional fly-rod/reel combo.
Too the way rod is held ..good luck paying out line . Line is rather than being mended and stacked/placed in front of the fisherman , looped around behind his elbow ,or behind him completely, too. Not going to be able to feed line that way.

[GA_Boy]

Nothing. Casting rod, lure, fish. Plenty of signs on opposite side of highway.

I'm not a big fly fishing guy, but the choice of lure/hook got me thinking

[rginn]

I saw a little blurb about that in the paper the other day. They wanted to promote their area's fly fishing for trout. That ain't a trout and that ain't a fly fisherman, neither.

[digger460]

The Bitterroot is known for trout fishing, and the fishermen there don't have a sense of humor. It's just amazing how that sign ever got through.

[TheRingFinder]

Yeah - looks like he's trout fishing and a big Ole Large Mouth is hitting his plug (which is missing the rear treble hook)!

[rginn]

Apparently they didn't include an actual local fisherman in the design process. Just as well, because if I was a local fisherman, I don't know as to how I would care to promote my fishing area as a tourist attraction.

[ChampFerguson/TN]

Show of hands that expected a goobermint committee to get something right the first time.......

[Captain Caveman]

It's certainly a fly rod. However, I would never be able to work a plug on a fly rod (and I'm guessing no one else would be able to either). Largemouth may not be the fish of choice at that location, but I've caught plenty of Largemouth on my fly rod!

[John Winter]

Wrong fish. Bass instead of trout ...

[Gold Maven]

plus the fish is HUGE, 3 time as big as the fisherman.....

[Old Dude]

What? You don't catch monstrous fish?? Lol

It is very obvious, The advertisement is starting to fall off of the board (top left corner)

AND the light bulb on the left is out.
