Why does this look like a raw diamond to me?

It almost assuredly is not a diamond lol that'd be too good to be true, but further inspecting the stone I can't help but question it. 20201207_223819-0.jpg 20201207_223830-0.jpg

It was the overall shape too that most diamonds are found in, but yeah again you're probably right. It would be too insane

Might be insane, but I'd still check it with a diamond tester..:icon_thumright:

One of those inexpensive diamond testers would work well. Where was it found? Generally speaking. There are neat topaz crystals naturally in Mason County, Texas.

Almost looks like it fell out of a ring and got heat up a bit. Never hurts to have it checked.

I found this on the Llano river banks if that helps, I'm aware topaz is occasionally found there, but according to some sites online there have been only a few actually documented diamond finds there. This being said I think it's most likely not a diamond just because of how rare it'd be.

Simple enough to take it to a jeweler and have it tested for diamond. Could be topaz, quartz or glass~ try a hardness test.

It looks purdy pretty to me...I personally would invest in a diamond tester and test it IF I were you...Don't make the same mistake I made and don't give it away to anyone...lol

It sure looks like a possible diamond to me...

I don’t think a diamond would be worn rounded like that unless it was tumbled with lots of other diamonds.

Hey,
Sit it on the small newspaper print, and if you can clearly read through it, it could be a diamond. Also, try the hardness test.

Neat find :)
